Welcome & Goodbye

Greet new members with a custom message and a beautiful generated welcome card, and say goodbye when members leave. Fully configurable from the dashboard.

Overview

First impressions matter. Natsumi's welcome system posts a personalized greeting whenever someone joins your server: as plain text, a rich message with variables, or a rendered welcome card image with the member's avatar.

Custom welcome messages with member & server variables
Generated welcome card images featuring the member's avatar
Separate goodbye / leave messages with their own channel
Everything configured visually in the web dashboard

Welcome Messages

Open your server dashboard and navigate to Welcome in the sidebar. Pick the channel where greetings should be posted and write your message.

1

Choose a channel

Select the channel where welcome messages will be sent, usually #welcome or #general.

2

Write your message

Use variables like {user} and {server} to personalize the greeting for every new member.

3

Enable and save

Toggle the welcome message on and save. The next member to join will be greeted automatically.

Example Welcome Message
Welcome {user} to {server}! You are member #{membercount}. Check out the rules and have fun!

Welcome Cards

Welcome cards are generated images that show the new member's avatar, username, and your server's branding. They make joining feel special without any design work on your end.

Rendered automatically with the member's current avatar
Can be combined with a text welcome message or used on its own
Toggle cards on or off independently in the dashboard
Good to Know

Natsumi needs the Attach Files permission in the welcome channel to post card images.

Goodbye Messages

Goodbye (leave) messages work just like welcome messages, with their own channel and message template. Use them to keep the community informed when members move on.

Example Goodbye Message
{user} has left {server}. We're now at {membercount} members.

Message Variables

These variables are replaced automatically in welcome and goodbye messages:

VariableReplaced With
{user}Mentions the member (@Username)
{username}The member's username as plain text
{server}Your server's name
{membercount}The server's current member count
